Karen Bailey, Artist
I paint to communicate feelings and emotions. I paint from the heart. Captivating colors, bold composition, and seductive mark making bring expressive brush strokes to life, engaging the viewer with movement and powerful energy. I love using multifaceted layering techniques that create intrigue as underlying elements are curiously revealed, giving each painting a sense of dimension. The underlying concepts of my work reflect the universal stories that shape our lives, and I invite viewers to explore them, asking themselves, " How does the world feel?"
Karen obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree focusing on advertising and graphic design from Penn State University. After a successful 30-yr career in art direction, advertising, and design, Karen rediscovered her passion for painting with renewed enthusiasm. Over the next decade, she resumed painting, attended workshops, and launched her own popular 68-piece line of greeting cards that gained national popularity. She continually filled her studio teaching workshops for ages 12 to 80, dedicating herself to inspiring others to reveal the artist within. Today, she enjoys painting in her home studio and sharing this space with fellow artists of all ages.
